Own a piece of history at The Ordnance Yard with Fox & Sons

16 May 2017

Unique, ultra-modern properties with a past

Fox & Sons is soon to launch The Ordnance Yard, a unique collection of coastal homes at historic Priddy’s Hard in Gosport, Hampshire.

Once the site of the Royal Navy’s armaments production, The Ordnance Yard will now become a development of nine contemporary homes designed by award winning John Pardey Architects and set within Grade II original ‘blast walls’.  Developer Elite Homes will breathe new life into these historic structures with the creation of ultra-modern houses that overlook Forton Lake towards Royal Clarence Maria, the Historic Dockyards and the Spinnaker Tower.

The selection of contemporary homes include six within the bays of the blast walls, set over three levels, with balconies enjoying direct water views and designed to ‘float’ within the bays; two further two-storey properties close to the water’s edge with balconies plus the addition of private waterside gardens; and ‘The Gatehouse’, a more traditional, three storey family home that enjoys a large garden as well as a balcony offering superb views.  All properties are ultra-modern with a quality specification throughout and design features include grey profiled metal cladding to exteriors to hint at the site’s historic naval setting and to create a unique environment.

David Craddock, Director at developers Elite Homes says:  “The Ordnance Yard sits within the historic Priddy’s Hard Conservation area.  Nestling against a Scheduled Ancient Monument, these nine stunning contemporary houses seemingly “float” between and beside the Grade II listed traverse walls.  We are creating a totally unique development that is unrivalled across the whole of the south coast of England.”

Helen Asteris, New Homes Partner at Fox & Sons, says: “We are thrilled to soon launch this superb collection of contemporary homes to market where buyers will be able to own a piece of history.   All properties are designed to maximise the unique aspects of this historic location with high specification throughout, and each enjoys stunning views.  A show home will be available to give buyers a first glimpse from June.”

Prices for homes at The Ordnance Yard are due to be released soon.   For further information and to express an interest in viewing the show home, please contact Helen Asteris at Fox & Sons New Homes on 07789 941721 or email the local Fox & Son’s team at Gosport@fox-and-sons.co.uk to register your interest early.
